Abstract

Gangway space is a room in the gangway system that is used to move from vehicle to vehicle. The Hybrid Trainer train is a train produced by PT INKA (Persero) for Politeknik Negeri Madiun (PNM) which has a curved radius of 30 meters, from that problem so that further analysis is needed regarding the simulation of train movements, especially the gangway space of the Hybrid Trainer train when turning. The method used is simulation of train motion tests when turning at a radius of 30 meters using CAD software and validation of passenger safety using anthropometric data. The results of this study, the conditions of the gangway space considered are normal conditions, half-turn conditions, and full-turn conditions. The half-turn condition is said to be extreme. The smallest result of the half-turn condition volume is 3.41 m³. The main space of the gangway has been fulfilled, which is equal to 680 mm horizontal clearways and 2000 mm vertical clearways according to the EN 16286-1 standard in 2013. The validation results using a dynamic shoulder width of 63 cm in extreme conditions are said to be safe to pass, because the upper gangway boundary section still has a space of 286 mm for the right and 263 mm for the left.
