Abstract

The results of observations on the Makasar Pare-Pare train sidewall frame assembly process at PT INKA (Persero) welding process that produces residual stresses resulting in geometry changes, so that the reforming process is carried out. The reforming method is a method to restore geometry due to residual stresses generated by post-welding using a welding torch tool with a certain heat temperature. This research aims to analyze the value of tensile strength, macro structure, and micro structure after heat input variations. The parameters in this study use temperature variations of 100-150 ° C, 150-200 ° C, and 200-250 ° with aluminum 6061 material. This research produces data from the value of the tensile test, macro examination, and micro examination. Based on the research that has been done, the greater the reforming temperature, the tensile strength value decreases due to the prespitat which becomes larger and coarser due to over-aged
